The 1841 and 1851 censuses show Brook Farm was farmed by brothers William and James How.

In 1861 it was farmed by William Selby and remained in that family until 1901 when it was farmed by Ira Hendy, it was still being farmed by them in 1911.

Brook Farm then passed to the Walmsley-Dockerell family and onto the Browns and finally to Jollife Kingswell in the 1960s who left much of the land to Cancer Research.
