If the weather was wet Granny and I would wear our wellington boots to the bottom of the lane where we would go into a cottage and change into our shoes for our trip to Newport. When we got off the bus we would go back to the cottage and change our shoes to our wellington boots to walk home. The lady in the cottage used to give me a small jar of honey and a new laid egg for my tea.
